What Is an Apostille?

An apostille is an official certificate that authenticates a document for recognition in other countries. It may be required for documents such as birth certificates, diplomas, and official records.

Which Documents Can Be Apostilled?

  • Civil status documents (birth, marriage, and divorce certificates)
  • Notarized documents
  • Court decisions and certificates
  • Diplomas, school certificates, and other educational credentials
  • Documents confirming medical qualifications
  • Extracts from the KRS and CEIDG business registers
  • Translations, certificates, and other official documents

An apostille can only be issued for eligible documents that meet the relevant authentication requirements, which may include an official seal, signature, and the issuing official’s name stamp.

Photocopies and printouts downloaded from ePUAP cannot be apostilled directly.
