Every foreign national who stays in Poland longer than 30 days must register their address. Official address registration (meldunek) can help you access important services and complete essential administrative procedures.
1. Landlord Refusal. Some property owners mistakenly believe that registering a tenant’s address gives them ownership rights or makes it harder to evict them.
2. No Legal Basis for Occupancy. Staying in a hostel or subletting without a formal agreement may prevent you from registering your address.
3. Errors in Documents. Incorrect passport details, address information, or contract dates may lead to an application being rejected.
4. Language Barrier. The application must be completed in Polish, and you’ll need to communicate with an official at the district office (Urząd Dzielnicy).
